Register as a Quality GTO
Registration as a Quality Group Training Organisation (GTO) is available to businesses and organisations that wish to operate and provide the services of a GTO and meet the National Standards for group training organisations (2006).

To register as a Quality GTO, contact your State or Territory training authority (STA). They are responsible for evaluating GTOs and providing an independent audit program to ensure organisation compliance with the National Standards for Group Training Organisations.

For GTOs to be eligible for specific public funding, an audit of its quality management system by an approved auditor is required to be undertaken.

Maintaining GTO status
For a GTO to maintain quality group training status, it must conduct annual internal reviews against the National Standards for Group Training Organisations to identify and implement continuous improvement. STAs will also conduct compliance evaluations at least once every three years from the initial evaluation. STAs may also conduct strategic audits for specific purposes, for example where a GTO extends its operations to another State or Territory.

It is important to note that compliance audits conducted in a State or Territory will be recognised by another but this will not automatically constitute approval to operate in other States and Territories. If you wish to operate in another State or Territory, you will need to seek approval by application and address the operating requirements of that State or Territory training authority.
